Learn All About Remote Imaging

The course has been designed to be very easy to follow, with a structure based on the learning experience. That means no annoying music, no filler talk, and no unnecessary montage. Go through each lesson in order, or jump from section to section, the choice is yours!

Set Up Your Rig at a Remote Observatory

Everything you need to prepare for a smooth transition

Know all you need to know about setting up your telescope at a remote observatory. Learn about the important pieces of equipment you'll need to bring to ensure it all works out, what software and drivers you'll have to download, how to transfer your files automatically, and more. Also get familiar with several of the best observatories in the world!

Understand Rental Telescopes

Control a large telescope from the hemisphere of your choice

In this remote astrophotography course, we also cover how to use rental telescopes from companies like Telescope Live. We'll show you how to pick the telescope of your choice, find a target, deal with filter selection, and launch a sequence remotely. We'll also go over downloading the data straight to your computer and see what result you can get!

Download and Process Data from NASA!

A space telescope at your fingertips

In the third and last section of this course, we'll show you how to download data from a professional telescope, like the Hubble Space Telescope or the James Webb Space Telescope. You'll also learn how to understand the filters used for the data, and how to process it all!

“I've been following Antoine and Dalia for a while now, and have always enjoyed their tutorials, so when I saw they had put together this course, I was interested, but initially was unsure what I would learn from it, since I have been into astrophotography for a little while now. Still, I decided to go ahead and it has proved to be very worthwhile! I learned quite a few new tricks, particularly on the subject of using Pixinsight, and found that I was able to go back to some of my old photos and dramatically improve them using the tips and tricks I picked up from this course. Looking forward to the future seasons!”

FAQ

  • Do I need a telescope (or gear) to use the course?

Not necessarily. You will need a full rig if you intend to ship a telescope to a remote observatory, but you can still image remotely without one! The second section of this course covers remote astrophotography using rental gear (without breaking the bank) and the third one covers downloading data from NASA! You can go through these two sections and learn before owning your own telescope.

  • Who is this course designed for? Beginners or experienced astrophotographers?

Both! The course will teach beginners everything about remote imaging with simple, easy-to-follow lessons. On top of that, the course also contains in-depth lessons that cover advanced topics, perfect for experienced astrophotographers looking to become even better in the hobby.

  • How long will I have access to the course material?

Courses that are purchased individually give you lifetime access with no expiry date. Bundles on the other hand, which include all courses at a low price, have a small yearly renewal fee. More info on that can be found on the bundle pages.

  • Can I still benefit from this course if I live in a light-polluted area?

Absolutely! The whole point of remote imaging is to be able to do astrophotography from a dark site every single night!

  • What kind of support is available if I have questions during the course?

We receive a lot of emails and messages on social media each day from people seeking help with astrophotography. We do our best to reply to everyone, but it is not always possible. We prioritize emails from both Galactic Course members and Patreon.

  • Can I access the course on mobile devices?

Yes, you can access the course on any device, which include computers, tablets, and smartphones.

  • Will I receive a certificate upon completing the course?

Yes! Once you complete the course, you will be able to retrieve a beautiful certificate proving that you have learned remote astrophotography with Galactic Hunter.

  • Can I access the course offline?

The course lessons are hosted on an online platform, but you will have the option to download the videos and watch them at any time, even when offline!
